History
Established circa 1939 as part of the greater "Waitikiri Links" area, "Burwood Golf Club" as it was soon to become known, was designed by prominent golf course designer, "Ray Blank", to offer a challenging course to even the skilled golfer of the day.  While not considered a long course, the elevated greens, water hazards ad natural undulating terrain made the course very interesting while testing of the golfer's complete range of skills.

A meeting in 1940, chaired by Ray Blank, saw the formal establishment of the new course which had now grown to the full 18 hole course we have today. The next milestone in the Club's history was also happening, when in 1956, a " Special General Meeting" was held to change the entity of the Club and a name change to "Windsor Golf Club".  The new Club continuing to flourish, with a new clubhouse being built to replace the original cottage in 1966.  Development has continued with new implement sheds, clubhouse upgrades including extensions and the addition of a large deck, offering amazing views of the practice putting area and the 18th green and fairway.

2013 saw another "Special General Meeting" where the name was changed to "Bottle Lake Golf Club", in recognition of the original landmark which the course surrounds.

Today the course remains an integral part of the local community while retaining an interesting and testing course for golfers of all abilities, a true testament to the vision of Ray Blank and the high number of member caretakers throughout the years.
